In a recent podcast appearance, US Vice-President JD Vance shared that he is committed to pursuing what he perceives as “God’s work,” even if his efforts inadvertently hasten the arrival of the end times. While Vance acknowledged uncertainty about whether the world is nearing such an era, he maintained that it is an eventual certainty, potentially unfolding in millennia or perhaps sooner.
Vance expressed the possibility that the Antichrist could already be present among us, citing societal developments that he finds troubling from a religious standpoint. He specifically criticized the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in personal interactions, labeling the use of AI as a replacement for genuine human connections as “kind of satanic.” According to Vance, these technologies undermine the meaningful relationships that people are meant to cultivate with each other.
The vice-president also recounted experiences of what he described as a spiritual unease during interactions with international leaders. Certain remarks or topics of discussion, he said, could set off what he referred to as a “spiritual alarm bell,” reflecting a sense of darkness he associates with these engagements.
In addition, Vance defended President Donald Trump in the wake of an AI-generated image that depicted Trump in a manner resembling Christ. Vance clarified that Trump did not intend to mock Christianity or suggest he is divine. Instead, he characterized the post as an attempt at humor, rather than a serious claim to religious iconography.
